AlEX Carpenter

Principal, Ednovate Orange county college prep

Alex Carpenter earned his Bachelor of Arts in Film/TV/Radio from Biola University and later obtained his Master of Fine Arts from Chapman University. He began his career in education in 2011 as an English teacher at CATCH Charter High, where he gained invaluable experience as an instructional leader. In 2015, he transitioned to Ánimo Ralph Buche, within the Green Dot Public Schools network, where he continued to excel as an English teacher, department lead, curriculum designer, and eventually as a College and Career Coordinator. 

Following his teaching roles, from 2021 to 2023 Alex served as the Dean of Students at Avenues: The World School in his home country of Brazil, where he was dedicated to enhancing student experiences and academic success at an elite world-renowned institution. Upon his return to California, he took on the role of Dean of Culture at Legacy College Prep, Ednovate’s flagship Orange County campus, demonstrating his commitment to fostering a supportive and dynamic school culture through constant care and accountability. 

Alex is deeply devoted to advancing Ednovate's mission by developing learning communities that improve student outcomes throughout Southern California. Today, Alex is thrilled to be a part of a successful and growing network and is honored to serve as founding principal for the eighth Ednovate high school, the second school to open in Orange County. In his free time, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, performing live music, catching a soccer game, or writing a story.
